Terry Towelling, terry, or simply towelling is a fabric woven with loops which allow maximum absorption for large amounts of water. This sort of fabric can be manufactured by weaving or knitting. Towelling is woven on special looms that have two beams that run lengthwise rather than across (longitudinal warp), which the filler or weft is then fired from the sides laterally.
